Onaga Kaichō's first visit to Latvia and Europe took place from November 8 to 13, 2005, accompanied by his two senior deshi from Okinawa: his daughter Onaga Michiko and Miyahira Tōru.  This event was hosted at the Baltic Beach Hotel.  In attendance, were primarily members of the Martial Arts Club Neguss, headed by Eriks Annuskans, as well as other martial artists from throughout Latvia.  This event was possible due to the generous support of:

Artis Pabriks — Minister of Foreign Affairs
Tanaka Susumo — Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Japanese Embassy
Jurgis Liepnieks — Head of the Latvian Prime Minister Office
Eriks Annuskans — General Secretary, Latvian Karate Federation
