On October 13, 2012, the Budō Shuren Dōjō organized its annual "Tag der Offenen Tür" (Open House) and martial arts demonstration. The Shinjinbukan Augsburg Dōjō participated in this event along with Aiki Shuren Dōjō and Genbukan Augsburg.

Here are some of the highlights of this event:

Opening Ceremony

Shinjinbukan Augsburg – Okinawa Karate Dō (Ti)

Genbukan − Iaidō & Jōdō

Aiki Shuren Dōjō − Iwama Aikidō

  

Opening Ceremony

The demonstration started with an opening ceremony conducted in the typical manner of a Japanese martial arts school. The members of the three schools sat on seiza (typical Japanese sitting position) and bowed towards Shomen (the front area), the teachers, to each other and towards the public.

Shinjinbukan Augsburg

The first group was Shinjinbukan Augsburg Dōjō headed by the instructors Jimmy Mora Sensei (Shibu Chō) and Melanie Petrak Sensei (Dōjō Chō), as well as Christian Streicher (assistant instructor) and all other students. The demonstration included tsuki, keri and tenshin in a circle, Chīshi (a traditional training tool), Machiwara, Ti Machiwara and the following Kata (forms): Naifuanchi Sho Dan, Pinan Ni Dan and Passai Sho.

Genbukan − Iaidō & Jōdō

Henry Schubert Sensei, Diana Schubert and their students from Genbukan Augsburg demonstrated the traditional Japanese martial arts of Iaidō and Jodō.

Iwama Aikidō

The demonstration closed with Dr. Carsten Oetzel, Dojo Chō and head instructor of the Aiki Shuren Dōjō. Also present were the assistant instructors Björn Rosenstiel, Karin Dachs and Florian Lehmann, accompanied by all their students.
