THE SHINJINBUKAN NEW YORK BRANCH

Since 1996, it was the first Shinjinbukan Branch in the United States.  Our mission is to preserve and promote the traditions of the Shinjinbukan School in Okinawa, Japan.  Our school is a private Dōjō offering classes to a selected group of students of all ages.  Therefore, an appointment is required prior to visiting our Dōjō.

Our Dōjō accepts new students on a trial basis through an interview & screening process.  All minors are required to register at least for one full session in the Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall.  THE SHINJINBUKAN FOUNDATION offers scholarships through its community program: SHŌRIN RYŪ NEW YORK

Our fees WILL NOT be discussed over the phone, but only during the interview process.
Registration fees are divided in the following categories:
    — Junior Students:  All children and teenagers registration fees are paid by semester. 
    — New Adult Students:  All adults accepted on a trail basis are required to buy a package of 10 lessons. 
    — Permanent Dojo Members:  All permanent members pay Dōjō fees by calendar year. 
    Financial Aid is provided to students on a need basis. 

Shinjinbukan International Association Fees - In addition, to fees listed above, all current student are required to pay a yearly fee to the Shinjinbukan International Association.  These fees are collected once per year, based on the following rates:
    — Yudansha:  Black Belts or Shinjinbukai Affiliate Members
    — Mudansha:  Junior Belts
    — Kodomo:  All students under age 17

The Shinjinbukan New York Branch is registered in the State of New York under the name SHINJINBUKAN FOUNDATION.

Our training calendar is divided in four sessions: Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall.  Each package is ONLY valid for the specific dates indicated below, which include 20 lessons for children or 30 lessons for adults.  Additional lessons are included in the calendar for make-ups and exams.  See our:  2008 CALENDAR (pdf format)

Winter Session: January 2nd — March 20

Spring Session: March 21st — June 20th

Summer Session: June 21st — September 21st

Fall Session: September 22rd — December 20th
